This is my last opportunity to write to all of you via the weekly bulletin. I want to take this opportunity to express once again how grateful I am for my time at St. Charles and St. Peter’s. It has been a blessing and a joy to serve as your parish priest these past five years. I will always be thankful for being part of your lives, having shared with you both joys and sorrows; challenges and opportunities. I’ve been tremendously impressed by both parishes’ spirit of service and commitment. I’m proud to have been able to serve here!
I’ve appreciated the many expressions of thanks for my priestly ministry. It is humbling. But the thanks ultimately goes to God who accomplishes all good things. Anything I may have accomplished is really a work of God’s grace. I also want to ask forgiveness for any failures on my part. Lord’s knows, I’m far from perfect! Thank you for your patience and understanding with my limitations. May God hold us all in his mercy!
I also want to thank in a special way our parish staff. They work very hard behind the scenes to keep our parishes functioning smoothly. I’ve appreciated their constant support and dedication. Our staff deserves special credit for anything our parishes have accomplished during these past five years. Please take time to thank them for all they do for St. Charles and St. Peter’s.
On Tuesday I leave on a special needs pilgrimage to Lourdes, France. I’ll be accompanying a group of disabled and sick pilgrims to the Grotto where Our Lady appeared to St. Bernadette. Please keep our pilgrimage group in your prayers and know that I will be bringing your needs and intentions with me to entrust to Mary’s intercession. In a special way I will be offering this pilgrimage in gratitude for God’s blessings these past five years and entrusting my new assignment at Plover to Our Lady.
Again, many thanks to all our parishioners. May God bless you always!
