Sharing Our First Fruits Annual Stewardship Renewal
Dear Parish Family Members,
Grace and peace in our Lord Jesus Christ! Lent has begun and it is time for our
annual parish stewardship renewal. Let me begin by expressing my deepest gratitude
for your strong support of our recent appeals last fall, exceeding the goals of both
our diocesan annual appeal and capital campaign. Because of the tremendous amount
of work put forth by our parishioners during these campaigns, we are making this
stewardship renewal as easy as possible. I do, however, need your help and cooperation.
The annual parish stewardship renewal helps us to update our parishioner
records. Secondly, it gives you an opportunity to let us know if there are any sacramental
or pastoral needs you have. Thirdly, your annual financial pledge renewal gives us
the basic information we need to prepare our budget for the next fiscal year. Finally, you
have an opportunity to either make or renew your time and talent commitment for the
coming year.
The renewal form should be quite easy to complete for your household. Should
you need help or have questions regarding the form, please contact the parish office
during office hours. The phone number is 723-4088. Once you have completed the
form, you many return it in the envelope provided, or drop it in the Sunday collection
basket sometime during the season of Lent. You and your intentions will be remembered
many times throughout the year in the celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
Parish Treasure Pledge
Because of your generosity during our previous appeals, I simply ask those who
made a special pledge in our capital campaign to renew the same pledge you made last
year through our parish envelope program. Some of you decided not to participate in
the capital campaign for one reason or another. This would be a good time to increase
your parish envelope giving.
Parish Time & Talent Commitment/Renewal
We can always use help in any of the ministries and services listed on the renewal
form. If you already share your time and talent in any of the ministries and services, and
are willing to continue this coming year, please make sure you list them and check
?renewal.? Likewise, if you are volunteering for something new, please check ?new.?
That will help us flag your new time and talent gift.
While all of our ministries and services are important, let me mention
a few in which we could use more assistance. They include: c h u rch cleaning, sacristy
cleaning, linen and server/alb washing, ladies to pray the ro s a ry at the funeral home for
deceased ladies of the parish, ministry to the sick and homebound, choir members, praise
leaders, and assistance with the development and maintenance of a parish website.
A Tribute To Our Youth
I am particularly proud of the many children and youth who lend their time and
talent in service to our parish. Their service is very much appreciated, and I ask parents
to show them this ?thank you? from me. When you fill this form out, please include the
service of your children. Encourage your children to learn the lesson of parish ministry
and service when they are young. The more they are involved, to closer they will remain.
In Closing
May the grace of this holy season of Lent be with you, and may you grow in the
holiness of God and love for one another. May the Lord bless the gift and sacrifice each
of you give for his service.
